Element by Marriott Basalt - Aspen

Front desk staff was especially helpful with suggestions for restaurants, local attractions & transportation. Complimentary breakfast was excellent,

Great hotel

We liked the location of the property, and its proximity to points of interest in the area. The room was clean and spacious. We did not like the hand held shower. It was very inconvenient. For the high price that we paid, we would have liked a regular shower. We did not like the fact that either at check in or at check out, the deposit amounts were not explained to us. Even when we asked explicitly at checkout, we were not told. We found out later while looking at the credit card statement. When the amounts are greater than $800, I think it is irresponsible that the hotel staff would not disclose it to us. When I called, the excuse given was the employee was a trainee. That was true, but there was also a senior employee at the desk. So there was no excuse for the information to be disclosed to us. Every other hotel on our trip told us clearly what the deposit amounts were. Overall, the hotel is not worth the exorbitant prices.

This was a great location. Easy drive to Aspen and really close to grocery store and restaurants.
