10 / 10Remarquable·juill. 2026
The Edenbrook Motel is the Platonic Ideal of 1950s roadside-motel perfection. Superb proximity to Acadia National Park … spotlessly clean, convenient, and comfortable … shared patio space with gorgeous views … utterly professional service. To sum up: one evening, we returned to our room to discover a lobster “doll” composed entirely of small hand towels. (The housekeeper made it.)

The building was set back from the road a bit with a large grassy area in front. The porch running along the front had chairs available for each room. The local shuttle bus into Bar Harbor center stopped adjacent to the motel.
