A perfect stay for our family after hiking at Kamikochi. The staff were extremely helpful both beforehand (prompt and detailed messages regarding how to reach there, our dietary needs, etc.) and during our stay. We are vegetarian and they went above and beyond in making our meals special. I honestly don’t even know how to describe how delicious and carefully prepared and served both the dinner and breakfast were. The location is stunning and the Onsen was wonderful. A stay we will never forget!

food is great, view is gorgeous, staff so friendly

Excellent service, very welcoming. The meals were very tasty and filling. Loved the traditional Japanese breakfast. This is the place to fully relax if you want to get away from the city.

Ryokan Sansui is a wonderful gem nestled in a quiet, pristine natural setting near Kamikochi, making it an ideal retreat for anyone looking to escape the bustle and immerse themselves in authentic Japanese hospitality. From the moment of arrival, the warm and attentive staff consistently go above and beyond to ensure a comfortable and memorable stay. The hot spring facilities are exceptional, featuring soothing main baths alongside excellent private onsen options that offer a serene, intimate space to relax after a day of exploring. Dining at the ryokan is a true highlight, with both the multi-course dinner and traditional breakfast served with meticulous care, showcasing superb local ingredients and beautiful presentation. Combined with its peaceful alpine surroundings and convenient proximity to Kamikochi, Ryokan Sansui provides a truly restorative stay that I would happily return to.
