From the moment we arrived, Cafe & Stay Castana exceeded every expectation. The location is simply unbeatable — walking distance to everything the city has to offer, yet tucked away enough to feel like a true local stay rather than a tourist hotel.
The property itself is beautifully comfortable: thoughtfully designed, immaculately kept, and full of the kind of warmth that makes you feel instantly at home. We loved the cafe vibe and the little touches throughout. But what truly sets Castana apart are the hosts. They went so far out of their way to make our family feel welcome that it’s hard to put into words — the kind of genuine, heartfelt hospitality that you don’t forget. Every small detail was considered, every question answered with care and a smile.
We came as guests and left feeling like we’d made friends. If you’re spending time in Matsumoto, don’t hesitate — the place is a hidden gem!
