Wow. What a nice surprise to open the doors to old world charm and a huge space in these self contained apartments right on the water. Met the owner on site and had a lovely chat over breakfast about the history and his journey since 1979. The restaurant onsite by the water is fab. Supported by the famous Tamarind restaurant by the side of the complex.
The sunset view over the Mombasa Islands is really nice and you can leave on a boat ride directly in front. I arranged a private guided trip of the old town and it was a simple taxi pick up in the morning over to the Fort Jesus to begin. Really this is a gem of a place to stay if you like some old world charm and very friendly staff. Felt like I was back in my younger years in a lush garden by a river in Australia. Highly recommend and I would stay here every time I am in Mombasa.
