Nice cheap victorian pub, nice breakfast and nice pub grub, only 8 minutes walk from the city walls at the postern gate. And there's a wetherspoons there as well.

Room was very good. Position of the accommodation for central York and the Barbican in particular was excellent. Pub downstairs is good for a pint after night out and before bed. Even had tellies in the bar for the football. Staff invisible but available when needed which was good

First time staying in a pub and it was a great experience!
Staff were very friendly and helpful and even let us check in early! We booked a small room and it was exactly what we needed for our one night stay. Lovely location too.
