We loved the location of Trapper Johns, very convenient to Wears Valley Rd, the park and some fun mountain roller coasters. The patio view was beautiful (note: some of the older wooden chairs left a lot of splinters and damaged some clothing) and we enjoyed evenings and mornings watching the scenery. Kids had fun with the arcade games and game room. Our only complaint was about utensils in the kitchen....we constantly ran out of silverware in our party of 6, and we thought there should be more cooking utensils (spatulas, grill tools, etc).

Clean comfortable and great views

Great place to stay - 2 small families fit very well with lots of space. View was stunning. Be prepared for quite the trek up the mountain to the house. We saw no bears and no wildlife during our stay. My only complaint is the cleanliness. I felt like we walked into dirty/sticky floors. All of the dishes were fairly dirty. (This is obviously a guest problem!) Be aware of nails sticking out on the upper deck - I recommend shoes! We were excited for the pool table, but it should be known the rails are dead! Recommendation for owners: add beach towels for hot tub! It would have been nice to separate shower towels from hot tub use. Overall, I would stay again!

We spent a few days at this cabin for my mom's 75th birthday, and she loved it! The view from the balcony is second to none -- sunrises and sunsets are beautiful, the patio furniture is comfortable, and the hot tub is soothing! The cabin is situated at the top of 4 steep switchbacks, but the road is paved all the way up -- it's only a surprise if you're not prepared for it, but it gets better after the first time. The only drawbacks we experienced were (1) intermittent communication from the property manager and (2) a lack of cleanliness. Re: communication... the first night we were in the cabin, I messaged the property manager, and they responded right away. Based on their response, I knew that, standing in the cabin, my text messages were leaving my phone and arriving at theirs fine. On subsequent days, however, I would send the property manager additional questions, and their answers would be delayed by a day or more. Re: cleanliness, the kitchen utensils, pot holders, and other surfaces were unclean. The listing explicitly states to "make sure all remote controls are accounted for", but my dad found a remote control and pencil in the cushions of one of the lazy boys -- not exactly cleaned as you'd expect. The listing also states that each bathroom has a hair dryer, but we only found one in the house. Overall, we had a great experience. The cabin is within 20 minutes of the grocery store, Smokey Mountain National Park, and other large tourist trap towns.
