Omotenashi HOTEL Asakusa totally blew us away with its ‘modern ryokan’ spirit. The artificial tatami and the futon felt exactly the same as the ones at the authentic experience. BUT for a fraction of the price. The apartment was big enough for two people. Providing everything you’d need for your stay - from cutlery to a bathtub to a laundry machine. And you could use the bathroom as a dryer for your laundry thanks to the hotel’s next level ventilation system. There’s also a fridge with a freezer chamber, which is great for ice cream enjoyers such as me. We never met any staff as it was a self check-in, but we didn’t need either, as the hotel mindfully provides with the answers before you even ask your question: there’s a very detailed information folder with instructions for all the appliances, which also features a FAQ and recommendations sections. The location of the hotel was in the quieter Northern part of Asakusa, but still just at a 15-20 minutes walk to either of the train stations in Asakusa. There’s a convenience store and a chemist both literally just around the corner (2 minutes walk). 10/10

Quiet, small but with everything you could wish for. Very comfy

We liked everything about it

The location

The constant noise from the people staying above me. When i put ear plugs in i could still feel the footsteps reverberate throughout the building. It was quite unpleasant to say the least.
