You’ll have exclusive use of a cottage in a historic half-timbered complex dating back to 1774. It’s a secluded property on the edge of a field with a large garden. It’s 3.5 km from downtown Detmold. The cottage features 2 bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and a living room with a wood-burning stove and an infrared sauna for two people. Two garden gazebos offer an unobstructed view across the field to the Teutoburg Forest and all the way to the Hermann Monument. One bedroom, featuring clay walls, natural wood, and a smart TV, is on the first floor; a second bedroom with a baroque oak bed is located under the roof. The movie theater and fitness area—equipped with a cross-trainer, weight station, dumbbells, yoga mat, and more—can only be partially heated in winter. You’ll have exclusive use of the large garden in front of the house for swinging, barbecuing, and relaxing; children and pets are welcome. A supermarket is 1.1 km away, and downtown is 3.5 km away. Heating is provided individually via electricity and/or a wood-burning stove; firewood is included. All beds have electric under-bed heating.

The Accommodation
The living room, kitchen, bathroom, hall, and bedroom (1) are located on the first floor with a view of the garden and the Teutoburg Forest. Bedroom 2, featuring an oak bed, is located in the attic. A historically accurate but steep staircase leads to the second bedroom; please keep this in mind.

Guest Access
The gazebo and the lounge are on the south side facing the field, with a sweeping view of the Teutoburg Forest. You will not be sharing the house or the entrances with anyone else. The gate to the lounge serves as the entrance to the hall, and the garden arbor is the entrance to the living room. Both are hidden from view and connected.

The garden in front of the house is perfect for playing, barbecuing, and relaxing. Here, you’ll have the space to yourselves and can even build a campfire.

The hall is ideal for relaxing after the sauna, playing table tennis, or using as a movie theater. However, parties are not permitted. In winter, the hall can only be partially heated, which is sufficient for using the fitness equipment. Upon request, we can connect a gas heater to heat the entire hall. For this, we charge a fee of 3 € per hour.
