Despite a few quirks, it’s a charming place and I would stay here again! ​ The inside of the house is very huge, offering plenty of comfortable seating options throughout for relaxing. ​The bed was very comfortable. ​The home was clean and tidy upon arrival. ​Pet-Friendly: Great that pets are welcomed on the property!

Anyone sensitive to strong odors may want to consider another space. Between the sulfur-smelling tap water and the indoor mustiness (typical of an old farmhouse), the smells can be overwhelming. Bringing bottled water for drinking and cooking is a must, and adding a dehumidifier inside would go a long way. ​The property owners have a couple of dogs that roam freely and unleashed around the property. If you travel with dogs that are timid with other animals (like ours), you need to be extremely cautious while outdoors. ​Pets are strictly not allowed on the upper level/upstairs. Since this isn't specified in the listing details, pet owners should be aware before booking. ​ The rock walkway/stairs outside are falling apart with loose, shifting stones. This is unstable and dangerous—anyone who has difficulty walking on uneven surfaces should take extra care. The yard looks like it was once a beautiful, well-kept garden years ago, but it has grown over and isn't maintained like it used to be. A basic Keurig machine would be a wonderful, inexpensive addition. We brought coffee pods expecting one and ended up having to buy a whole bag of ground coffee instead.

Peaceful location in lovely grounds. Convenient for local attractions. Very helpful hostess. Superb level of equipment. Lots of space. Great shower. Comfortable beds.

Only toilet upstairs was in an en suite, so sharing between four might be slightly awkward for some, though it wasn't a real problem for us.

It is a big beautiful house with lots of character. Host John is so friendly and gave great ideas of where to go for food and sites.
