Not Very Vacation-Friendly
Spacious living area, nice view.
Check-in instructions were unclear - the apartment is at the back of the address and this is not mentioned. Because we arrived at night we couldn't see the 'Orange House,' which would be easy to see in daylight. It took us a while to find it.
The beds were uncomfortable. The top bunk did not even have a proper mattress, just three cushions strapped together. The cot was very firm and you could feel the springs. The pillows were stained and dirty.
Also, despite the apartment having 6 beds, sheets and towels were only provided for the number of guests booked. This was my mistake as I had accidentally only booked for 2 people (we had a group of 4), however we had to pay an extra 10,000 Yen to get additional sheets and towels, so make sure you are booking for the right number of people. I will say the staff were very prompt in providing the additional sheets once paid for, and that was appreciated.
However, there was only one set of towels per person - no extras. As we were staying for 5 nights, we were requested to wash the towels in the washer/dryer provided, which was fine - except there was no laundry detergent provided. This was not mentioned at all prior to check in. The location makes it difficult to access any shops on foot, so it would have been helpful to know if we needed to purchase these things before check in. It was very inconvenient and a bit rude to expect guests to wash towels but not provide detergent, with no forewarning.
There was also no guidebook provided for operating the air conditioning, hot water, kitchen appliances, etc. We had to turn the hot water on from outside the property, which took us a while to find.
Overall, there was a lack of information and transparency provided by the accommodation hosts which really impacted the enjoyment of our stay. We ended up leaving 3 nights early.
I would not recommend this property unless you have a hire car for your stay.
