Hotel The Viking, City Centre - Near New Delhi Railway Station & Connaught Place

The hotel is within walking distance of the Metro station, although walking there with luggage can be difficult as the street is very busy. The staff are very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The buffet breakfast is good with variety of options. Most historical places can be easily accessed by Metro or taxi, generally within 30 minutes. Since the hotel is new, the facilities and furniture are also modern and well maintained. Overall, it was a very comfortable and convenient stay.

The breakfast was good and had lot of varieties. Room was also well spacious. Our overall stay and experience with The Viking was very good. This was our 2nd time staying in this hotel. Lastly The General Manager of this hotel Mr. Krishna and the whole staff was very polite and professionally well gestured with us.

Bed was comfortable and TV and fridge was a lovely addition.

Breakfast was extremely minimal and the gym is 0/10 (we have been backpacking for weeks and had better experiences at outdoor free gyms). The gym has like 5 pieces of equipment and it is filthy which makes no sense because the gym has a staff member allocated. We felt really let down by this as we had booked this accommodation for the gym. Hotel staff were also not very welcoming. The other reason we had booked this hotel was for late check-out which we were denied and told that we were lying that this was included (we showed proof of this on booking.com). Then after all the stress right before we left he told us we could go to another room for the remaining hours - we obviously declined because we were done at this stage and just wanted to leave. Lastly the fixtures in the room were very loose - when we arrived the inside door handle of the bathroom was on the side of the sink - we reattached it but it just kept falling off the entire stay. The water was also absolutely boiling and took about 30 minutes to cool down and there was no handle soap or toilet paper (which we requested but only then got given toilet paper - no soap). I don’t normally write such extensive reviews but for the price this is totally not worth it. We had stayed in a different hotel the other time we were in Delhi which was much much better. I would not recommend this hotel. It is not good value for money.
