We have just returned from one of our favourite holidays ever, staying at Villa Ponente. The location, setting, views and attention to detail made our stay perfect. The delightful George welcomed us on arrival, ensuring a smooth check-in, and providing a generous welcome pack. He arranged for Cristina to visit us the following day, when she gave us an extensive overview of the things we could do and places we could visit in Kefalonia. The villa was perfect for two couples, with super-comfy beds, air-con and plenty of bedroom storage. The three fridges were very useful and regular cleaning and linen changes much appreciated. The best part for us, however, was the beautiful pool and outdoor area, where we spent most days, reading, swimming, relaxing in the sun and enjoying the welcome breeze and stunning views. The outdoor kitchen was a welcome bonus too. We used Greka Travel for regular taxi journeys, and found them to be very friendly and reliable. George was a complete star, popping in to check in on us every three or four days, and bringing us much appreciated gifts of olive oil, delicious home-made moussaka and ouzo. We hired a car to visit Assos, Myrtos beach and Melissani lake, and took two enjoyable day trips, one by coach to Ithaca and one boat trip around Ithaca. Agia Efimia had plenty of walkable bars and restaurants, with views across the harbour. We did not want to come home, and are already looking at dates to book again for next year!
