The Nelson country house

On arrival we were greeted by lovely staff, showed to our garden room : we knew that they don’t serve breakfast, (if we needed anything just pop into hotel to ask )so we were on golfing holiday we had breakfast at clubs : but Tilly’s cafe was brilliant, a walk away :

It was a really spacious and beautiful room!! The interior decor showed a lot of thoughts. Really close to Burnham Thorpe, so ideal for anyone coming to check out Admiral Nelson's birthplace.

Unfortunately, there were too many negatives even though the price was low. The room was pleasant enough, and the shower worked well.

Firstly, the pub was closed on our arrival (Tuesday and Wednesdays) but this was not made known to us on Booking.com so on arrival everything was deserted and we had to literally hunt for our room. Secondly we met The hosts by chance in the car park but they didn’t particularly go out of their way to welcome us. Thirdly, the biggest problem was how small the twin beds were and how very very uncomfortable they were. God forbid if they had a 6 foot man sleeping in one of those beds because not only would his feet hang over the end they would probably fall out of the bed because it was so narrow. Lastly the towels that were offered in the room seemed very thin and cheap. I would never offer towels like this to my guests. I would not stay here again.
