This was one of the worst accommodation experiences I have encountered while traveling. Despite multiple attempts to contact the host—including five phone calls, several messages through Booking.com, and emails—I never received any check-in instructions or any response whatsoever. As our arrival time approached, we were left completely in the dark with no way to access the property. After spending hours trying to reach the host, we ultimately had to involve Booking.com customer service. At approximately 7:00 PM on a busy bank holiday weekend, they were forced to relocate us because the host remained unresponsive. Unfortunately, due to the holiday weekend, the Dover area was almost completely sold out. The only available alternative accommodation was nearly two hours away, significantly disrupting our travel plans and adding unnecessary stress and expense to our trip. A host’s most basic responsibility is to communicate with guests and provide access to the property they have paid for. In this case, that did not happen. I cannot recommend this property and would strongly advise future travelers to consider other accommodations.
