My child participated in the itheatrics camp, and this location was perfect. He felt safe to walk to rehearsal every day and we could easily walk to shows every night. The location is as described in listing. Small kitchen and living space, but bedroom is large. I felt secure accessing and while inside the building. We saved lots of money having a kitchen available to make simple breakfast and lunch. Every night dinner was out and the food in the area is amazing! There are a ton of laundromats and local food markets nearby. Everything you want to do or see is within a 5 to 10 minute walk. Host was responsive and helpful! It was an awesome trip!!

This review is somewhat skewed by the fact that this was our first time in NYC with no expectations. Positives.........the location in Hell's Kitchen was great, with tons of food options and strategically situated by the theater district, Times Square, Central Park, Rockefeller Center, and key subway stations. Our host Rikki was responsive to my questions from booking to arrival. Cheaper than the 800 per night hotels around Manhattan. Negatives...........the apartment was located on the 4th floor of a run-down building with a steep/broken staircase and a homeless guy you had to basically step over to enter. The apartment itself is tiny (probably standard for Manhattan) with a single bedroom and a narrow hallway leading into a micro kitchen and phone booth-sized bathroom. The hallway has a full bed wedged against the wall that you have to shimmy by sideways to get through and a little table with three broken plastic folding chairs. The apartment is cooled by two window-type AC units (one of which has visible gaps directly to the outside). We encountered 2-3 Jurassic-sized cockroaches during our stay..........which I'm assuming is common for NYC, but still pretty gross as you lay in bed at night wondering what might be crawling on you as you sleep. In my opinion, this property could use some basic investments to make guests stay a little better (i.e. better chairs, better mattresses, new tiles, new lighting fixtures, etc). I'm giving it a C- overall
