Dalma Baixa

The location was great, so convenient. Even though it’s on a busy tram street - it was quiet at night. Having a small balcony was great for getting fresh air. I also liked the fact it was a Boutique hotel and acknowledges the impact of Portugal’s colonisation policies. Having only 14 rooms, I got to know the staff in a week. The breakfast was excellent. Highly recommended.

Location is perfect in the old Baixa district. Close to Praca do Comercio where all various transport options start from. The walk down from the hotel is not too steep but going further up the hill its best to take the tram. Breakfast was amazing for such a small hotel. Variety of fruits and yogurts plus ham cheese and assorted pastries. Our rooms were on the 4th floor with a balcony looking out onto the bustling street with famous tram 28 passing every few minutes.

Our bedroom was themed GOA. Beautiful comfortable large bed BUT the clutter in the room was unnecessary. The rooms are small and we had a HUGE angle poised floor lamp plus a very wide low woven chair which took over the room. Trying to negotiate getting into the wardrobe was a task in itself as you had to move around the huge standard lamp which we could have done without. The lamp and the chair may look very good on promotional photos but in reality they are cluttering up an otherwise lovely room. Tip to the owner - get rid of these two items as it was like having another person in the room!!!!

staff were all very good, friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable - bed lovely. Breakfast tasty - good range of fruit, meat, cheese, bread and pastries Fantastic location - tram stop just up the road 1 minute and 5 minutes to the river. Perfect place to stay. Lots of choice of restaurants and bars nearby
