Hotel-Gasthof Adler

Our room and bathroom, although smaller than last time we stayed in March, was lovely. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. A fan was provided & very welcome as it was very warm for September. The buffet breakfast was excellent and plentiful, with fresh fruit salad and a variety of juices, cereals, bread/pastries, cold meats/patè and cheeses, scrambled egg & smoked salmon, tea & coffee.

Whilst accepting that it is rare in Europe, we really missed not having a kettle & brew-making facilities in our room, for a cup of tea before breakfast.

Belles chambres. Très bon buffet de petit déjeuner. Bon accueil. Hotel avec du charme et du cachet bavarois.

Un peu loin de Lindau. Salle de bain un peu exiguë.

breakfast was good, even sparkling wine was offered. The sleeping was good, good bed. The cleaniness was good too. The wall behind the bed is entirely made of very old wood, which is characteristic, but not surely safe from fire. Altogether it was good for those who like country style.

location is out of anywhere, literally nowhere to go, so you must have car to go to to any walking place, shop or whatsoever ; the house is a village cottedge house, O.K. we knew that and wanted to try, no critics it was o.k. , but for almost same price you can stay in a hotel in a town or close to facilities. This is for people who like country style accomodation, otherwise go elsewhere ... There are stairs UP from street, so with heavy suitcase you have go upstairs and they are not very wide, so carrying suitcase is not convenent. Personnel was involved in serving guests of their restaurant and we got kind of attention only on our request. Altogether O.K.

The hotel is beautiful from the outside. Oberreitnau where the hotel is located is quite nice, despite being a bit off - there is a bakery if you want to save on breakfast and good cycle tracks leading to central Lindau and the lake.

The single room I was staying in was very hot and small. Furthermore, its only window was facing a terrace that was being used to access two other rooms. This felt very unprivate, not to mention the lack of view. This room should be half the price, not €85! The hotel is situated next to train tracks so there is a bit of the noise from the passing trains. Furniture and bathroom was rather outdated. There didnt seem to be a dedicated room for storing bicycles over night. I also find it misleading that the hotel is listed as located in Lindau, when it is located in Oberreitnau, a village outside of Lindau (10 km from Lindau Insel)
