Great location and a safe,secure building with a patio out front. Everything was spotlessly clean both in and outside the rooms. The shower and bathtub had good water pressure and lots of hot water as well as shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. Good towels were provided. There is a small sink, fridge, kettle and tea and instant coffee supplied. There is also a seperate shared kitchen but I did not use that. The bed was confortable with four pillows of different firmness but sadly the sheets were not cotton but synthetic. A/C worked very well. The window in my room overlooked an back area and the curtains did not completed block the light from outside.

Synthetic sheets on the bed. Also if people are talking in the hallway to the rooms you can clearly hear fhem.

The location was close to a lot of restaurants, the trolley to the Gaslamp Quarters, and the waterfront. The front desk staff were friendly.

The room was promised to have a view of the plaza and the fountain, but we were on the wrong side of the building and down on the first floor, too low and in the trees to see anything. Besides the view, the room was dingy with a badly stained carpet, a portable air conditioner that was so overfull with condensation that it gurgled and spit out water all day and night. There was no bathroom sink, so we had to use the kitchenette sink in the room for toothbrushing, etc. The beds are very cheap spring mattresses. I think we only slept well because we had walked 10k steps in just a few hours. The place is an apartment building that rents some rooms as hotel rooms, so it’s not really kept nice like even a basic hotel would be. It was just ok for a place to sleep, but not a nice place to enjoy a vacation visit to the area unless you can’t afford anything nicer.
