This pet-friendly luxury log cabin is part of a 25-acre private estate high on a mountainside overlooking a lush valley. Sunrise from the front porch is awe inspiring. The previous owner was Francis Woodruff, an heiress to the Coca-Cola fortune. Today, cows, goats, pigs, chickens, and dogs are raised in the barns below the cabin and welcome your visit. You will be minutes from Lake Burton, Lake Rabun and Lake Seed and only 2 miles to Kingwood Golf Course. You will be only 7 miles from world-class white water rafting & kayaking on the Chatooga River and you will be surrounded by thousands of acres of US Forest Service land. You will find Appalachian crafts and art 3 miles away in downtown Clayton. Enjoy the views from the top of our mountain of North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee & the Great Smoky Mountains. There is a wide creek and covered bridges in the valley below. Enjoy total privacy upon entering the property via 3 electronic gates. Open living/dining plan with 2 sets of sliding doors open to porch with hammock, swing, picnic table, magnificent mountain views. Fireplace & rock wall in LR, office behind it, 2 sets of washer/dryers, fast wireless internet, high remote controlled windows for year-round breezes.
You will have no trouble with access as the wide, paved roads go all the way to the front door which can be accessed by carport ramp or stone steps.
A hammock swings from porch beams overlooking the Great Smoky Mountains. This 3,000 sq. ft. cabin has two first floor king-sized bedrooms with private baths. The loft contains a king bed and queen bed and 2-sink bathroom, tub and shower.
Drive-In Movie Theater nearby.

Such a cool spot! The house is beautiful- high ceilings, wood beams, lots of windows. Nice kitchen, 3 full baths, and the bunk room upstairs would be great for a group. We LOVED the farm animals, and the views are incredible. All around a great, comfortable, unique stay. Rafting the Chattooga (Southeastern Outfitters) is only 15 min away- highly recommended!!

The view was beautiful! The exterior is a rustic log cabin with great covered porches. The interior is spectacular and clean and seems like a new house. We really enjoyed our stay on the farm and enjoyed watching the cows, pigs, and goats every day. There was plenty to do with the town of Clayton 10 minutes away with great shops and restaurants. There was also great hiking, biking, and lakes and rivers to explore nearby.

This is a beautiful property with a lovely view of the mountains, especially at sunrise. Communication with the host is easy and Carol is very responsive. It's obvious she is proud of the property and wants her guests to enjoy it. It's dog friendly but if you have a dog that needs a regular walk, this may not be the place for your furry friend unless you plan to take them hiking at one of the nearby parks/rec areas. Even though the property is big, most of it is farmland and there really aren't any roads to walk a dog. The kitchen is fully equipped and cooking is easy. The bed in the primary bedroom is firm but comfortable. The home has an open concept layout so it feels big and it is airy and bright. The farm animals in the valley below are fun to watch from the deck. Clayton has a cute little downtown area with shops, art galleries and restaurants. It's also close to several state parks and waterfall trails. If you're there during the right time of year, the many produce stands are worth a visit, too...excellent farm grown fruit and vegges. If the Clayton area is a place you plan to visit, I would certainly recommend this property.

Amazing house, perfect for women’s weekend. The views are gorgeous all day, especially sunrise. Beds were extremely comfortable, kitchen had what we needed. Only issue we missed the property sign so had a drive way up the mountain, not fun for the car! Would highly recommend!
