Casa das Flores (AL25736) is perfectly situated in the centre of the sheltered, south-facing bowl of Arco da Calheta.
Sleeps 6, an additional beds can be provided for children.
Calheta has the reputation of being one of the warmest areas in Madeira.
The villa was designed to maximise from the benefit of its position for its views of the Atlantic Ocean, Arco da Calheta village and the mountains behind.
A top class interior designer was employed to assist with the interior layout and furnishings.
The villa is positioned to maximise the shade in the summer to keep the villa cool and in the winter allow the sun to shine on the south facing windows.
This contemporary, high-spec villa is surrounded by extensive, well maintained gardens, offering luxurious and spacious accommodation with uninterrupted 180º views of the Atlantic Ocean and village.
The open plan living area is designed for maximize use of natural light and for indoor/outdoor living.
The ample Miele-fitted kitchen/diner leads directly out to a large pool terrace with BBQ, outside dining table, loungers and umbrellas.
The pool (11x4m), with its solar cover, is heated to maintain a water temp of approx. 20c, in the Winter, higher temperature in the summer.
Additional heating up to 26c can be provided in the Winter, at an additional charge, please contact the owner for details.
For winter, the lounge has a wood burner, the kitchen and bathrooms have under-floor heating and oil-filled radiators are available for the bedrooms.
WiFi, DVD, CD, games, meo cable TV are available.
HDMI cables are supplied to connect computers to the televisions for guests that wish to watch BBC and ITV using a VPN
Casa das Flores is licenced (AL - Alojamento Local- ) and tourist approved, complying with all statutory requirements, is registered for IVA and pays appropriate taxes, so you can rent with confidence.
INDOOR / OUTDOOR LIVING and the POOL:
This Villa is ideal for indoor/outdoor living and you can enjoy meals outside during most of the year, except perhaps Jan-Mar.
The winter sunsets over the ocean are a perfect evening backdrop.
The large terrace, provides a number of private sun bathing areas, with attractive flower beds, extends along the length of the house and contains a large heated swimming pool, which measures 11 x 4 meters.
Adjacent to the pool is a shower room and a BBQ shack (conveniently close to the kitchen) with gas BBQ, a 2-burner gas hob and sink unit.
Plenty of garden furniture is provided, including a dining table for 6, numerous additional chairs, 6 sun loungers.
Awnings provide shelter over the dinning area. Stone steps lead up to the pretty, well-stocked landscaped garden at the upper level behind the house which can also be accessed from the bedroom passage.

Plenty of cable TV channels via Meo cable TV.
The lounge and kitchen have large 40 ins screens.
There is a DVD/C player in the lounge and a CD player in the office area. Selection of DVDs, CDs,books, games, playing cards provided.

Nearest supermarket Calheta 6 minutes by car
Local café/bar 5 minutes walk. Choice of restaurants 6 minutes by car.

This is an excellent luxury villa, with a large pool, great garden and good facilities. You do need a car as there is very little in walking distance, but it is only 10 minutes to Calheta and the drive is easy. The kitchen was very well equipped, and all the furnishing are of a high standard. The nearest decent supermarket is 30 mins drive, but it is again easy to find. There a many great walks you can drive to within 30 mins but not too much on the doorstep. The host was excellent and communication very clear. Given the weather in Maderia, you do need to have the pool heated, it isn't cheap but is a necessity, so factor that into the costs. We loved the table tennis table, spin bike and weights in the garage. we didn't know they would be there and its one of the things we really appreciated, so we hope they will remain available in future. We would highly recommend this Villa and hope to go back in the future.

Just WOW!The property is everything the description says, with endless reviews to back it all up! Beautiful rooms and layout. Lovely big (heated) pool. Plus the truly stunning view across the Atlantic that glows like a painting with each sunset.Communication was excellent throughout, with lots of useful information available at the villa. The welcome basket of treats was very useful before we got some shopping in.A car (with Sat Nav) is a must. The driveway is very steep and takes a bit of getting used to ... as do the equally steep surrounding roads. But it is worth it. A few nice nearby cafes, a lovely fusion restaurant (Melton's Kitchen) and a very useful mini supermarket (an Amanhecer shop - 9370-702) a short drive away that has everything you need.All-in-all, a perfect break away from the rat race ... and one that we will be returning to in a couple of years for sure!

This Villa is the best VRBO that we have ever stayed at. Every part of the Villa was amazing. The view was spectacular. It was well worth the little extra to heat the pool. The kitchen was well appointed. The owners do their best to give their guests a lot of options for activities in the area. The location was always in the sunshine despite the micro climates around the island. Also the location was an easy drive to the beach, groceries, cliff top views, PR hikes and any exploring desired. The island of Madeira is amazing.
