The space
Welcome to Red Bend! A one of a kind cabin with spectacular views of the Clear Fork river, unique architecture and a quaint ambiance. This gem sits high atop the sandstone cliffs of the river and along a beautiful hill canopied with Hemlock pines. The stunning views out every window looking down on the river makes this treehouse-like home very special.
Guest access
Guests have the entire cabin to themselves and can be enjoyed with family, a small group of friends or on a romantic getaway for two.
Other things to note
The steps to the cabin, inside the cabin and to the river are steep. If you traverse down the steps to the river please be very careful. The cabin itself sits on the side of a steep hill overlooking the river. Please be cautious especially if you have toddlers.
Snow Trails Ski Resort and tubing park are just 10 minutes away. Mid-Ohio Racetrack and Pleasant Hill Lake are a short 15-20 minute drive. Mohican State Park and the canoe liveries in Loudonville are 15 minutes down St Rt 97. Additionally, Cardinal Shooting Center on I71 is 30 minutes south and it’s a short 25 minutes to the Mansfield Reformatory where Shawshank and many other movies and videos were filmed.

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed our stay. We mostly stuck to the main floor since it was just the two of us, but the other areas were really nice. We did enjoy the basement den since it was dark for an afternoon movie viewing. The views were amazing and it was a relaxing respite from the city. The hot tub was a great help with that. Yes, the steps down to the cabin are step, as other reviewers stated, but you can see that in the photos. The walk down to the river was definitely strenuous, but we are also in our mid-40s and did not have proper shoes on for the trek. It's was still worth it for the view of the river. We were happy to learn that there was a record player and brought some of our own collection to enjoy. We would absolutely stay again, and would love to experience it in autumn or winter.

Nice a quiet area. Road was tight but nothing that can be done about that just something to be prepared for, used to flat Indiana roads. Overall great time!

House was clean mostly, we had a baking bonanza. Cookies and such for a wedding. The kitchen kept up with us 11 doz cookies and 100 brownie bites, plus dinner for 11. Our feet were black.... the floor was not clean. The steps down to the cabin were very steep and uneven, the "stairs" to the loft and basement living area were very steep. narrow treads and piping for a step rail. Older folk and our 6 yr old grandchild struggled with the "stairs", and up and down to the cabin. Bring a flashlight, no lighting on streetside or coming down those steps when dark. The hot tub was nice, no neighbors, so very quiet. And the beds were comfy. For the price.... we weren't happy due to safety issues. The host was nice enough. But we won't be back. Sorry.
