Welcome to the Foothills of North Carolina and our little house in the woods! The home of white squirrels and country life, we are located at the bottom of White Oak Mountain. Only 5 minutes from I-26 and Columbus NC, yet we are tucked away in nature.
Pets (up to 2 maximum) each 35 lb max are welcome. We do charge a pet fee so be sure to include them in your reservation. If we see you have pets and have not included them in the reservation, we will charge $200 to the card on file. You are responsible for any damages that may occur while you are here with us. This includes but isn’t limited to any bedding, furniture, carpets, scratches on floors, etc and any extra cleaning cost that may need to be required. Please take your pets with you if you leave or keep them kenneled inside in your absence.
We have added a level 2 EV charger! Please let me know if you will be using it for your vehicle. It is ONLY for our paying guests. No friends and family, it is reserved only for those in the reservation.
If you’re interested, be sure to look for the white squirrels while you’re here. They are known to show their presence in the morning outside our little house in the woods!
This spacious 1 Bedroom -1 Bath apartment is resting on a slope surrounded by trees on the back side. You will take the steps up the side to the entry, step inside and relax! There is also a sleeper sofa in the living room if you need the extra bed.
Outside offers a place for fire pit if the weather allows for that. Bring your hammock and string it up between trees if you wish. We have nature outside the back door!
For the more adventurous, we are only a short 10 - 15 minute drive to the top of white Oak Mountain where you will have panoramic views.
Whether you are passing through and need a place to stay for the night or want to stay for a week, We hope you will find this place a resting place or a somewhere that you can set aside the worries of life for just a bit and relax!
Please note: we will not give any refunds or future stays if your plans change. This goes for any cancelled flights as well as changes in plans because of weather or any other issues that could arise. Please purchase the trip protection before booking with us if you think you may encounter disruptions in your plans. Thank you

From the moment you walk in, to your departure, it truly feels like a home away from home! Rose is such a wonderful and kind host! She goes above and beyond to make your stay relaxing! The space is clean and comfortable! If we are ever in this area again we will definitely book here! We especially enjoyed watching the white squirrel everyday! That was a site! You are also close to a lot of nature! Overall 10/10! Would truly recommend!!

This is one of the nicest Homes we’ve stayed in. Not only is the house immaculate, the host provides extras that are not often provided at other VRBO’s including fresh cookies upon arrival, lights and music on when entering, coffee and breakfast treats….
