Discover Granite Getaway, a well-appointed two-bedroom apartment in Juneau's Mendenhall Valley, positioned at the base of Thunder Mountain and next to a peaceful greenbelt.
A trailhead at the end of the street provides access toward Mendenhall Glacier, with relatively flat and even terrain along the route.
Inside the Apartment
Located on the second level above the garages, Granite Getaway offers two private bedrooms, each furnished with a queen-sized bed.
The apartment also includes:

* Oven/cooktop and microwave
* Full bathroom
* Fireplace
* Living room
* Dining area
* Roku smart TV
* Private washer and dryer
* Linens and towels
* Cookware, dishes, and utensils
* Coffee and popcorn

The private laundry area is located downstairs in the garage area and can be accessed directly from the apartment.
Property & Parking
The property consists of three separate dwelling units connected by a three-bay garage. The layout means the individual units do not share walls.
Free off-street parking is provided. Guests may park one vehicle in front of the middle garage space. Please note that garage parking is not currently available.

Granite Getaway is positioned between the Juneau Airport and Mendenhall Glacier, making it a convenient base for exploring the area.

* University of Alaska — 4 miles
* Juneau Ferry Terminal — 6 miles
* Downtown Juneau — 10.5 miles
* Eaglecrest Ski Area — 21 miles
The local bus stop is approximately a 10-minute walk away, with a convenience store located nearby.
Two bicycles are available to rent for $10 per bike per day for the duration of your stay. For longer-term stays, the rate is $50 per bike per stay.
Self Check-In
Late arrivals are easy with our self-check-in system. Your lockbox code will be provided a few days before arrival.
Check-in is at 4 PM, and check-out is at 11 AM. Early check-in and late check-out may be available for an additional fee depending on availability.
Pets are welcome with prior approval and an additional fee. Please note that Expedia's booking system (or other affiliated channels) may not collect the pet fee at checkout. If you are traveling with a pet and the fee is not included in your reservation total, we will collect it separately after booking. By booking with a pet, you acknowledge and agree to this additional fee. For extended stays, please inquire about monthly pet rates. Pet fees help offset the additional cleaning and maintenance required to keep our pet-friendly properties clean and comfortable for all guests.

Very nice property! Close to everything. They even left us coffee. We were so thankful. Everything was very comfortable. Felt like I was staying at a family home.

We stayed at Granite Getaway fine night/ paid for six nights and chose it primarily because it was pet friendly. Overall, the unit had most of what we needed.The kitchen was adequately stocked, but it would have been nice to hav cookware not badly scratched and peeling Teflon to the point unusable. We also had to tighten a loose doorknob, and I spent time troubleshooting the smart TV, including updating the software, to get it working.During our stay, the host asked to enter the unit to measure for new windows. Traveling with a pet, I found this inconvenient, especially while trying to relax on vacation. After multiple text messages, the measuring was eventually postponed, but it disrupted our stay.One night, a light fixture unexpectedly fell and broke while we were asleep. I immediately notified the host. In the final communication, I was charged for the damage before being asked what happened. The host suggested it was caused by “aggressive movement” and also claimed we had pulled a curtain rod from the wall. I do not believe either claim is accurate.To be fair, the host did credit me for one night pet fee for the unused night of our reservation. The bedding, especially in the front bedroom, could also use an upgrade this is Alaska and it was cold and the beach themed polyester bedding was not adequate.It was not a terrible stay, but the way the maintenance issues and damage claim were handled left a negative impression, and I would not return.
