Our self-contained vacation home in Gemünd is an ideal starting point for your vacation in the Eifel National Park.
Welcome to our comfortable, smoke-free home in Gemünd.
The separate, fully equipped kitchen (coffee maker, kettle, toaster) overlooks the Urft River.
Next to the kitchen is the dining room with a large table for 6 people and space for 2 high chairs.
In the 25 m² living-dining room, new, comfortable sofas invite you to relax. Here you’ll find the latest books and maps of the Eifel, so you can plan your various excursions at your leisure. The living room is equipped with a 42-inch satellite TV and a DVD player (MP3, CD, iPod).
From there, the large French doors lead to the small, south-facing veranda with seating and a few steps down into the beautiful garden surrounded by hedges (for your exclusive use) with a playground.
There’s also a naturally shaded terrace where you can enjoy the sun and have a leisurely barbecue.
There are three bedrooms upstairs. One large bedroom with a double bed (adjustable mattresses up to 180 cm wide), a closet, and the option to have a child’s bed delivered.
One bedroom with a 200 cm wide double bed, adjustable mattresses, a closet, satellite TV, and space for a travel crib. Both rooms have a table and chairs.
The third bedroom, with bunk beds, a small table, and plenty of toys, is designed for children.
The new bathroom on the upper floor, which gets natural light, is equipped with two toilets and a bathtub.
On the first floor, there is also a bathroom with a shower, sink, and storage.
The floors are child-friendly, made of laminate, vinyl, or cork. All electrical outlets are childproof. We’re happy to install a door at the top of the stairs.
You can store drinks in the cool cellar or play foosball.
The washing machine and central heating are also there.
In the garden, there’s a lockable bike shed.
Unfortunately, starting in 2019, we have to raise prices by €2.
The new rate for the city of Schleiden is €0.50 per night per person.

The house was newly renovated, clean, spacious & comfortable. The location was excellent, across a quiet street from a river and walking trails, while being a 10 min. walk to the centre of Gemund with several great restaurants/bars. The host family responded quickly to my messages and graciously forwarded a hat I had forgotten to one of my next accommodations.
The few negatives were that I found the pillows uncomfortable and a few of the listed amenities were not present, such as a clothes dryer, an outdoor grill and a fussball game. We had packed and booked accommodation around the use of a washer/dryer so its absence was very inconvenient. The host offered the use of a dryer in another rental but we found a more convenient option. So, if a clothes dryer is important to you, make sure the promised dryer has been installed.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this house.

Having just returned from our visit to Gemuend, we can say that this house had everything. From a well-stocked kitchen to a brilliant selection of children's toys, there was nothing more we could have asked for. As regular self-caterers in Germany we have a lot of experience of holiday homes, and can safely say that this was the best we have stayed in. Recommended without hesitation.
