Lapad is part of Dubrovnik (actually the peninsula) situated just a few kilometers away from Old Town. The connection with an Old Town is very good and the bus goes very frequently. It is a relatively new part of Dubrovnik compared to the history of the Old town. In the past, it was the residence of local merchants and nobility but now it is becoming the biggest residential part of Dubrovnik. The majority of hotels and villas are situated in this part of Dubrovnik.Lapad, the area with lots of good restaurants, places to stay, pedestrian areas, and beautiful beaches with magnificent sunsets is one of the favorite parts of Dubrovnik. Not so crowded as in the Old Town but only 1o min away buy a local bus it represents the perfect place to stay.

I regret to say that I cannot recommend this location, particularly for Asian travelers. On April 11 at approximately 6:20 p.m., three young individuals shouted “Hitler” at my husband and me while we were near the apartment. As seniors over the age of 70, we chose to leave the area immediately to avoid any escalation. We came back to the apartment with a group of friends.
Our group, consisting of eight families, fifteen young athletes and coaches traveling from Toronto to Dubrovnik for the TOMO tournament, stayed nearby. Unfortunately, this incident significantly impacted our overall experience, making it the most negative aspect of our trip.
