The Neighborhood
Alfama is a picturesque, hilly neighborhood with narrow cobbled streets, pleasant squares, tiled façades, the most charming tascas serving authentic Portuguese cuisine, and Fado restaurants spilling melancholic sounds onto the streets. Although many changes have occurred in Alfama in the last few years, it still preserves that medieval side that is both fascinating and charming. Crowned by Castelo de S.
