Black River Road is one of the best drives in the Upper Peninsula in any season — and in summer, it's something else. Five named waterfalls, towering hemlocks, and a dramatic finish at Black River Harbor on Lake Superior. Alpen Villa 2 is your starting point.
Back at the condo, you've got 1,000 square feet of genuine comfort for eight: two bedrooms, a full bath plus a half bath, a fully equipped kitchen, and a wood-burning fireplace with firewood included. Grill dinner on your private balcony. Soak in the hot tub on the lower deck — shared with Alpen Villa 1. Wrap the night around one of the two community firepits at the ends of the building, firewood ready to go.
When you need a reason to stay in, there's Pac-Man. When you need one to head out, the Iron Belle Trail, Copper Peak, and the mountain itself are all close.
Alpen Villa 2 connects to Alpen Villa 1 — together they sleep 16, with shared hot tub access right there on the deck.

The connecting pairs are 1+2, 3+4, 5+6 and 7+8; no other combination connects. The listings look alike, so if you're not sure you've picked the right two, message us before booking and we'll confirm availability and point you to the correct pair.

Great location. Perfect for our group and needs. The game table was a favorite for the kids. The kitchen was well stocked which was so appreciated. The only thing I'd suggest if renting the home and planning to use all sleeping spaces, is bringing extra bedding or asking in advance for extra bedding and towels. We didn't bother the host with a request and made due, so not a negative reflection of the property. We enjoyed our stay!

I book a ski trip for the last 5 years to Powderhorn with my daughters.This trip was extra special, my father just passed away a week before this trip. I decided to go on the trip still to find peace and cope with loss. It was a start of someone I lost so special to me. This trip I will not forget.

Property is old/dated, but right on the hill for easy ski in and out. Hot tub is small and shared with neighboring condo, rotate each hour (although not as bad as it sounds). Bunk bed and queen bed for the kids all in one room. Queen bed in another bedroom. Pull out couch in the living room for 1 or 2 more (the pull out couch is in brutal shape, very old, springs are weak so you feel every bar, nasty bed coverings on it). Lots of wood for the fire place. Kitchen is well stocked with basic cooking needs. My only complaint is the age and discomfort of the pull out couch and the lack of clean bedding for it. Next time I'll bring an air matteress and my own bedding.
