Very responsive host. Clean and welcoming. Lovely location and near to some nice hikes (waterfalls, fairy holes). Great seclusion and ease of access to major roads. Host was very accommodating for a late checkout. Kitchen well stocked with dishes, utensils, pots and pans, etc. Wifi worked well, and good cell service. On the minor annoyance side, we had trouble turning off the ceiling fans and leaving lights on. One fan was broken. Outdoor lights over porch did not work, but side light was sufficient. Games room and fireplace (on listing) were not available.

Our host, Kim, was amazing. There was an initial problem with the water, and she bent over backwards to fix it herself as quickly as possible.The space was comfortable and clean. It is close to the Cabot Trail and a bunch of other Cape Breton activities, and we had the chance to get to see a lot of them.Highly recommended.

The location of this property is perfect. It's the ideal spot to explore Cape Breton and the surrounding area, the property itself is very large and very private, and the cottage is a great size. Having access to a kitchen and laundry was great, heating worked great when it got surprisingly cool on a few of the nights.
The downside is the property doesn't seem as well cared for lately. A lot of the kitchen items had seen better days and there's definitely some kind of a carpenter ant problem happening, they were a constant problem. The beds unfortunately were just not great, collapsing under any weight.
