Pool was the highlight of the house! Kitchen was well equipped and was nice to have two stoves for cooking. Volleyball court and basketball court should not be listed as an amenity. Volleyball court was basically gravel and was looking forward to having a family tournament. Luckily sombrero park was nearby. House could use a deep cleaning, some door handles would fall off. Blackstone was quite greasy/ dirty. Breakers would trip and the light in the dining area smoked one night while it was on. House accommodated our large group. Younger adults enjoyed the pool table. Other than a few maintenance needs I would recommend this listing.

There was no formal check-in process, which was unfortunate because it would have been nice to meet the host and get instruction on the clearly complicated hot-tub/pool heating system (basically, the guest has to decide between heating the hot-tub OR the pool, because the heating system doesn’t allow for simultaneous heating of each. This situation wasn’t clear from the guest-book in the house—which we read thoroughly—nor was the actual mechanics needed to toggle between each mode, which required knowing to push a certain button labeled “1” on the hot-tub…also information not contained in the guest book). Ultimately, this situation was sorted out, but it took a couple of days of back and forth with the host to figure it out, including a call directly between the host, myself, and the pool-guy, none of which I wanted to do on my vacation and all of which could have been avoided with a better check-in process and more detailed guest book. **Advice to future renters: get the check-in (which I actually planned on, but was told ‘wasn’t necessary’; ultimately host agreed “yes, the check-in in person was probably the way to go”).Next issue was just the overall poor cleanliness of the place, which was 3/5 star at best. Hair left in the bathrooms from prior guests, dirt and grit in the plastic silverware container in the kitchen drawer, and old plastic bottles and dust bunnies from prior guests swept under the beds were just a few of the unfortunate encounters left for us.

We were happy with our stay and had fun as a family. The size of the house, rooms and location was great. We loved that we didn’t have to worry about pool towels. There were however some disappointing items as well. This was our first time using VRBO and we trusted the description to be accurate. We paid for a clean resort like situation however, because of the aforementioned items it missed the mark. This house had a lot of mold and tiles that need to be fixed, carpet covering holes in the floors, and broken curtain rods. The pool was constantly cloudy and we kept having to call to have the pool tended to. There was not enough silverware for a group of 26 and there were no dish towels, dish rags or sponges for cleaning up the kitchen. There were a few outdoor chairs that were broken, the tiki hut has a sink that is not operational, the white railing on the second floor is not safe and we had 4 toddlers in our group. The grounds on the sides and near the tiki bars have a lot of clutter/broken stuff that made it feel more cluttered than resort like. The hammock is partially torn and not safe for adults to use. We loved that there were kayaks and paddle boards, but there were no paddles for the paddle boards, just kayaks. There was a dart board and no darts.
Some suggestions are to put hooks in all the bathrooms so things can be hung up, extra hand towels and possibly a few extra bath towels so you have something to use when you use your towels.
