A vacation on the cozy Stern houseboat “Aegir,” moored in the front row on the Schlei, a Baltic Sea fjord, in Schleswig’s city harbor, offers relaxation and rejuvenation, freedom, or adventure for vacations with friends, families, or couples.

This spacious, moored houseboat offers you all the comforts of a modern, high-quality vacation rental with a sun deck and rooftop terrace. In the cozy, light-filled living area with an open kitchen, you can relax on the couch or in an armchair, or gather around the spacious table for a delicious meal or a game night. Through an illuminated glass-bottom window, you can observe the underwater world in the evening.

The well-equipped kitchen, featuring all essential appliances, a stovetop, and a combination oven/microwave, leaves nothing to be desired, allowing you to quickly refocus on the essentials of your vacation. Inside the houseboat, you’ll find two cozy bedrooms in addition to the living area, as well as a modern bathroom with a shower. The first bedroom features a 160 cm wide double bed, while the second has a cozy bunk bed (single bed on the bottom, double bed on top) and floor-to-ceiling windows offering sweeping views, even from the top bunk. Of course, there’s also Wi-Fi and a TV, and you’ll find plenty of storage space in the closets in each room.

From the spacious upper deck, you’ll enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of Schleswig and the Schlei, a Baltic Sea fjord, along with the Möweninsel nature reserve. Make yourself comfortable in the cozy lounge area or in the plush XL beach chair and unwind while gazing out at the water. Downstairs, a covered terrace with a wooden table and chairs offers a magnificent view of the Schlei and Schleswig. Here you can enjoy breakfast at sunrise and get the day off to a great start. In the evening, enjoy the maritime atmosphere from a front-row seat with an exclusive sundowner.

Once you’ve refueled, there’s plenty to discover: The central location offers excellent opportunities for exploring ashore—for example, in the old fishing district of Holm or at Gottorf Castle. Right near the harbor, you’ll find many shopping options, cafés, and restaurants, as well as the tourist information office and a bike rental shop. By bike, you can explore the Haithabu Viking Museum and numerous quaint villages nestled in the countryside, among other attractions. Or you can take a cruise along the Schlei on the historic saloon steamer “Wappen von Schleswig.” Numerous natural swimming spots, lakes, and the nearby Baltic Sea beaches also offer a refreshing escape on summer days and invite you to take long walks in the spring and fall.

Only products of natural origin that are 100% biodegradable are used to clean the Stern houseboats. This also applies to everything you’ll find on board: toilet paper, paper towels, soap, dish soap, shampoo, and shower gel!

Please note that the use of bed linens is mandatory. You can either bring your own or add them to your booking during the reservation process.

At the Wendtorf, Barth, and Schleswig locations, additional fees in the form of a visitor’s tax, tourism fee, or overnight stay tax may apply. These costs are not included in the price and will be billed separately afterward.
