A bright and airy beach cottage with a covered oceanfront porch, Mead Us At The Pier is located right down the sand from the Oak Island Fishing Pier. This vacation rental welcomes up to one dog weighing 25lbs or less per reservation year-round.
Two flat screen TV's (52" flat screen TV in living room) with extended cable, wireless internet. Oceanfront covered deck with rocking chairs and child/pet gates, enclosed hot and cold outside shower plus rinse off at steps off beach, covered parking beneath house. Just steps to beach access, walking distance to pier and beach club. Oceanfront master bedroom has a king bed, bathroom with Jacuzzi tub, sliding glass door to deck and a flat screen TV. No smoking.

I really enjoyed our stay there. It was cozy for my husband and I and the porch was perfect for morning and evening. Bonus was the gates to keep my dogs happy to be out side all day. The only thing that would have been better was a lower sand dune. The oceanview was very limited although you still got the sound and breeze.

This house is set up very well for your family. In an area that is great for your pet. Porch is spacious and has gates at both stairs.

The location is perfect. Tucked right behind a dune, you feel like you’re all alone at the beach. You can’t see the crowds or hear the people, but the ocean is right there. My only thing is it would be nice if they would clean the windows that face the ocean. They were caked with sand and a thick film. You could tell it had been a VERY long time since they had been washed. I cleaned them when I got there so we had a beautiful view from inside the home. Otherwise the house was perfectly clean.

This property is not worth the price compared to other houses we have rented, including another on Oak Island. 1 - a smoke alarm was chirping due to low battery. 2 - we could not figure out how to turn on the shower in the master bath. it had a mechanism we had never seen before, and there were no instructions for the house other than how to check out. 3 - the TV was a disaster. First, it was dependent on internet service and the internet router needed restarting. Then, you had to figure out how to get TV service as the TV appears like a phone or tablet with apps, all of hich required signons. No instructions. 3 - all of the windows had a salt film on them that should have been cleaned off. We paid a premium for oceanfront but had a hard time enjoying it. The excuse that the salt spray covers everything doesn't wash - this is the sixth year we've rented a house directly on the beach on Ocean Dr at OKI and the first time we've had this problem. Everyone else cleaned the windows. 4 - Every piece of furniture had a fine layer of sand on it. Bottom line, there are plenty of other places here on the beach for rent. We wouldn't stay here again.
