À propos de cet hôtel
Large Home on the shore of Lake Superior. Lodge has all amenities included. Huge 2nd level deck with patio furniture to relax and observe the lake. There is a very large yard and parking area. The Lodge has everything a normal house would have. Dishes, cookware, tableware, etc... There are 5 bedrooms, two with a King, two w/queens, and the 5th has twin full size bunk beds, sleeping a total of 12 guests. There are three full size bathrooms, 2nd level bathroom has a shower & tub and the 1st level bathrooms have shower stalls. Included in your stay is a gas grill with propane, paper towels, toilet paper, garbage bags, hand soap, dish soap, dishwasher soap, laundry detergent and softener as well as coffee filters for our regular drip coffee maker. We don't provide toiletries. All bedding, towels and linens as well as a 55" Smart TV, WiFi and internet where you can sign into your own streaming service.
Au Train is located in a beautiful rural area, and unlike cities, homes here do not use a municipal water system. Instead, everyone relies on a well system for their water including us! Well water is completely natural an does not contain additives or chemicals such as chlorine, commonly used in city water. Because of this you may notice that the water can taste or smell different than what you're used to at home. We do have a water softener and provide you with a reverse osmosis drinking water system and of course you're welcome to bring bottled water if you prefer.
Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore begins in Munising, which is only a 15 minute drive away and there are over a dozen waterfalls within a 30 mile radius of this home. The National Lakeshore provides days worth of outdoor activities and adventures. Nearby AuTrain Lake and AuTrain River provide a wonderful place to enjoy swimming, water sports, fishing or a relaxing paddle. The AuTrain River provides excellent swimming where it empties into Lake Superior, and kayaking as it winds 7+ miles through the Hiawatha National Forest. Kayak rentals are available, otherwise feel free to bring your own, there is plenty of space to park your boat, trailer or whatever you bring. If you are into fishing, Bass, Walleye or Pike are your most commonly fished in AuTrain Lake, and Trout and Salmon in Lake Superior. Kayaks are available for rent.
I have seen nearly everything in this area and am a great resource during your stay. I will meet with you after you arrive and give you advice about the area and things you can enjoy during your vacation.

The home was comfortable, clean, and had a beautiful view of Lake Superior, especially in the evening. If you plan to spend time on the deck or in the backyard after sunset, be sure to bring mosquito repellent. Overall, a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the scenery.

This is a comfortable five bedroom, three full bathrooms, family oriented cottage with gorgeous views of Lake Superior from the brand new raised deck. Although there is no beach on property, a sandy beach area is just five minutes away. The house is well maintained. Kitchen is well equipped. We have rented this cottage for two consecutive summers because it was perfect for our needs and very homey. I highly recommend this property!May not be good for people who have trouble using stairs. Main floor access requires a stair climb.

This property sits on one of the most beautiful lots in Au Train. Finding it and checking in was very easy, and the property manager was very helpful. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience did not meet expectations. The place was not very clean. The hot tub needed attention, the shower curtain should be replaced, and the dining chairs were old and dirty. The bathrooms did not feel inviting, and the overall interior design felt unfinished. Some furniture choices, like placing one sofa behind another, did not make much sense. Even small details, like not having a sliding screen door to the rooftop, made a difference, as it would help keep flies out.It does look like the property may be going through renovations. I hope the owner sees the true value of this location and invests in updating and redesigning it.
