À propos de cette location de vacances
In the countryside, in a hilly setting surrounded by meadows, Kerguz is located 2 km from the entrance to Penzé, a small tidal harbor, and 6 km from the golf course and the beaches of Carantec, which overlook the 15th-century Château du Taureau, fortified by Vauban and the only seaside fortress in France with a functioning drawbridge.
The history of Kerguz dates back to the winter of 1669, when it served as the winter residence of the governor of Château du Taureau; it welcomed pilgrims on the road to Santiago de Compostela very early on, as evidenced by the carved shell-adorned stones at the site.
A farmhouse was renovated in the early 2000s into two adjacent lodgings: Ker Neiz, the Breton nest, and Ker Héol, the house of the sun.
Since their restoration, these lodgings have won over those who have stayed there and often returned to seek out the charm of the place and the silence, delightfully disturbed by the birdsong and the gentle murmur of the waterfalls feeding the small lake.
The gardens, laid out on different levels, are rich in many iconic regional species such as camellias, magnolias, rhododendrons, azaleas, and hydrangeas, as well as a beautiful collection of roses and exotic plants; Brittany served as a place for acclimatizing seeds and plants reported by the first explorers.
The gites offer high-quality services in an elegant setting that combines old-world charm with modern touches.
