Nepenthe is a characterful, quintessential Cotswold holiday cottage which sleeps six guests, in three well-appointed bedrooms, with three bathrooms. Dating back to the 18th century, this Grade II listed cottage is made from honey-coloured Cotswold stone, with original oak beams and a stunning wood burner set in the original inglenook fireplace. Leading out from the well-equipped kitchen is a serene private courtyard, a relaxing spot to unwind after a day exploring the local area. Located in the dog friendly town of Stow-on-the-Wold, Nepenthe is suitable for one medium sized dog!

The Stow Horse Fair is held twice a year, typically on the Thursday closest to 12th May and the Thursday closest to 24th October, however, we would recommend checking the exact date ahead of placing your booking. This is a traditional fair for gypsies and travelling people to meet up and trade which dates back to 1476 when its Charter was granted. Stow is very busy for a day or two before and after each fair, and a number of shops, pubs and restaurants are closed. Whilst many visitors enjoy the colour and vibrancy associated with the fairs, other visitors prefer to avoid Stow on these dates
Please note there are only child facilities for 1 infant

This was an amazing property in an ideal location. We had 4 people (one couple and 2 singles) and it was wonderful to each have our own bedroom and bathroom. I highly recommend.

We found the cottage clean and supplied with everything we needed. The beds were also comfortable and the rooms cool.
You were right in the middle of the town which was great for food and shopping. We also had easy access to lots of interesting things to do.
The only thing was the parking was difficult and we had to drive round several times to find somewhere and then carry our luggage to the house. The cottage is set on a main road that seems to be busy all day and overnight as well. We were also in between a small restaurant that had people eating outside to after midnight which caused problems for those in the front bedrooms1

We had a lovely, lengthy stay of 11 nights. It was our first stay at Nepenthe, but we've been visiting the Cotswolds and renting cottages for over two decades. The Cottage is fantastically situated in Stow--on a main road that was busy during the day but quiet at night. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well-equipped but in need of some repair--a broken refrigerator shelf, the vent fans were inoperable, a couple of broken knobs on the stove. The lounge and bedrooms are comfortably furnished, and the bathrooms are well-appointed. We did not use the log stove (no wood when we arrived and too warm by the time we received it), but it, too, looked in great condition. The outside space is indeed very small--enough space for a table and a couple of chairs--but private. Our main concern is that there is no washing machine. To be clear: the posted confirmation does not indicate there is. However, we have never had a cottage that did not, and assumed that a three-bedroom cottage would have one. Again, our mistake for making the assumption, but, considering the rarity, it would have been nice if the booking specs stated this more clearly (currently just not a listed amenity). Such knowledge would be especially useful for families and visitors staying more than a few nights. Also, visitors may wish to know there are no bathrooms on the ground floor. Again, lovely stay in a comfortable, fabulously located cottage.

We were very blown away by this cottage! It was so beautiful and quaint and easily walkable to all the shops and restaurants in town. Working with Tasha was great and helped us get us all sorted for arrival. I would 100% recommend staying here!
