Only five miles from Historic Downtown Fredericksburg and the heart of Wine Country, slip back in time in this authentic 1800’s log cabin. Privately located on seven and a half gorgeous acres, Cactus Cabin provides the privacy and peace of being nestled in the tranquil Texas Hill Country surroundings while still conveniently located near the best that Fredericksburg has to offer.
Relax with a glass of wine on the front porch watching the deer nearby or after a long day of shopping and visiting the local wineries wind down in the hot tub while secluded for privacy in the nature of the Hill Country.
Surrounded by large Oak trees, Cactus Cabin is a quaint retreat that offers a cozy stay for two in it’s one bedroom, one bathroom home. The cabin features an electric fireplace, comfortable Queen size bed, Wifi, DVD Player, TV for Roku/Streaming ability and a rustic kitchenette with a mini fridge, microwave, Toaster oven and utensils. The open bathroom features an antique clawfoot soaker tub with an attached shower handle and sink connected to the kitchenette and also features a folding door room divider for privacy. The front porch is perfect for relaxing in the evening alongside the Hot Tub for a relaxing soak beneath the trees. Also with a deer feeder on site you may spot 20 or more Axis and Whitetail Deer in the mornings/evenings!! Such a sight to see!
We also provide a charcoal grill. Please be sure to bring charcoal and lighter fluid in the event we are out.
We provide hair dryers, iron and ironing board, coffee, sweetener and creamer for all of our guests. All linens are laundered and sanitized for each new guest!
With so much serenity and rustic relaxation at the cabin you may never want to leave! However with so many attractions in Fredericksburg such as museums, restaurants, shops and wineries be sure to explore the entire town and take in the culture! You can do wine tastings in town or visit any of the beautiful wineries along Highway 290 (be sure to check out 290 Wine Shuttle!)

We had a fabulous time at the Cactus cabin! Communication was amazing, which was good because we were there during the big flash floods We had open communication and great information on how high the cabin was. Unfortunately HWY 16 shut down during our stay. Since we could not travel on the highway, we had lots of time at the cabin. The hot tub was nice and the cats kept us company on the porch. I would recommend staying in this quaint little cabin.

My wife and I stayed here for our first wedding anniversary, and it was great. She's a huge fan of any and all animals so getting to hang out with some cats when we weren't away was a major plus for her. Initially I was a little concerned about privacy as there are three other cabins that are present on this property, however all of the other cabins are far enough away where you can't hear anything from those cabins, even if you're relaxing on the porch in the evening.Staying here also made my wife and I realize we need to upgrade our mattress. The bed was SO COMFORTABLE! It got to a point where we got out of bed later than we meant to, and took some naps that we really didn't mean to, a few times because the bed was so comfortable!All of that said, no place is perfect. While these things didn't bother us, the cabin is about 100-200 yards away from the highway so there is a considerable amount of noise from the road during the morning and throughout the day. It is also a very minimalist set up. The host has provided additional small appliances to make your stay comfortable to spend a couple days here, but you're not going to be set to spend a week at this particular cabin(in my opinion). If you're looking for a longer stay I would check out the other 3 listings from this host. I won't have enough space to talk about how great the host was, but you'll be in great hands with Melissa. She's set a new bar for us when it comes to hosts!

Enjoyed our stay ,having a front porch to sit on and watch the red birds also the barn cats love to get attention and close enough to town to go something to eat and walk main street

It is a very nice cabin that is close to Fredericksburg, but far enough away that you feel you are way out in the country. The only drawback is the TV was not working. After a long day of seeing Fredericksburg, we like to kick back, relax and watch TV. I feel that if I am paying a premium price for a VRBO, then all of the amenities should be working. Otherwise, nice place.
