Welcome to the Alte Schule in Oevenum on Föhr, a historic thatched-roof Frisian house that offers you and your family a comfortable and spacious retreat for a relaxing vacation in a generous 150 m²—and you’re welcome to bring your four-legged family member along, too.
The completely redesigned and superbly equipped kitchen is a culinary dream, leaving nothing to be desired with its dishwasher, glass-ceramic cooktop, oven, and microwave. Here, you can cook to your heart’s content for your loved ones and treat them to culinary delights. On the first floor, the spacious living room offers plenty of room for cozy moments, and an additional dining table invites you to enjoy meals together. Two bedrooms, each with two single beds that can be pushed together to form double beds if needed, as well as a third bedroom with another single bed, provide comfortable sleeping arrangements. The windowed shower room, which was completely renovated in 2019, rounds out the amenities on the first floor.
On the upper floor, you’ll find three additional bedrooms, each furnished with a bed (1.40 m x 2.00 m) and a full-length mattress. This floor also features another bathroom with a tub and shower, promising relaxation for restful moments.
The Alte Schule is located in the heart of Oevenum, just a few meters from the popular weekly and craft market. The newly landscaped village square, featuring a small fountain, is perfect for cozy summer evenings—especially after dark, when colorful light orbs glow and the chirping of crickets creates a special atmosphere. A bakery is located not far from the property, and the “Friedenseiche” (Peace Oak), which has stood in the lower part of Oevenum since 1871, is a historical landmark that tells the story of the village.
