Perched on the hills above Valojoulx—a typical village in the Périgord Noir region, located in the canton of Montignac-Lascaux—you’ll find La Bachellerie, nestled on the edge of the forest.
The house, set in the heart of an 8-hectare private estate, enjoys an ideal location. It is situated in the center of the “Golden Triangle” connecting Les Eyzies (the Cro-Magnon Man), Montignac (the Lascaux IV Caves), and Sarlat (the medieval town).
Built in 2005, the house has been completely renovated and decorated in a cozy, comfortable style, offering 89m² of interior space. It is a 3-key Clévacances-certified vacation rental.
We’ll welcome you with a basket of local specialties upon your arrival so you can sample the delicacies of our region.
Early risers may be lucky enough to spot some deer that will keep you company during breakfast.
During the day, you can relax in a private, fenced-in, heated 5×11-meter pool with a spacious exotic wood deck, lulled by the gentle song of cicadas…
In the evening, enjoy the house’s south-facing terrace while sipping a drink with family and friends as you watch the magnificent sunset.
Children can play and let off steam with the many games provided.
Outside, there’s a play structure, ping-pong, a basketball hoop, and badminton; inside, children’s DVDs, books, board games, Legos, markers, and colored pencils… (2 bedrooms are equipped with flat-screen TVs)
Just below lies the heart of the small village of Valojoulx, featuring the 12th-century Saint-Laurent Church—a listed historic monument—its magnificent pond, and its charming, friendly farmers’ market every Friday evening during the summer.
Make the most of your vacation—upon request, we can book tours of caves or castles for you, recommend the best restaurants, suggest unique horseback or pony rides with a swim in the river, and provide the best routes for hiking or mountain biking.
Pets are welcome for an additional fee of €50 per week per pet.
The pool is open from early May through late September. The house is attached to a second vacation rental, which also has its own pool: peace and privacy are guaranteed, with no direct line of sight to neighboring properties.

The house is lovely situated within a hilly countryside near the vezere river. You are almost separated from the busy tourist streams you find somewhere further south in the Périgord.We really loved it therefor - and if you want - you can always get there. The house itself provides you with everything needed for an independent holiday, has a fully equipped kitchen, enough space and leaves nothing to be missed. We really loved the great, covered terasse, which is a nice feature, when it rains. A bit apart from the building is the large and heated (!) pool, which I found even big enough to perform some serious swim training.
In terms of sport - the area is one of the best I ever experienced for race cycling. Hilly roads, you're almost alone, it was such a pleasure to ride there.
We´d definitely would come back !

There is no question that this house is perfectly located and the owner is very pleasant and accommodating. The pool is wonderful, but the owner really needs to either replace or sand down the decking that surrounds it. There is a notice that tells you “not to run, due to splinters”, but my wife and I both got two splinters each, just walking. The bedrooms are nice, but the upstairs main room needs shutters to help keep it cool. The kitchen is adequate, but has no cupboard space to store dry groceries. There was only the three of us and we struggled, so not really sure how a family of 5 or 6 would cope.
There was a small amount of information about the house / local supermarkets etc, but this could do with more detail.
This is a nice house, but with a few improvements, it could be a great one!
