À propos de cette location de vacances

IT075082C0646362132 (CIN). Listed in the "Italian Excellences Register," Mulino Santo Spirito is an enchanting historic villa dating back to 1600 that has been completely restored in Surano, a historic little village in the hills of Apulia, in the Salento region. A sole proprietorship registered as a vacation home with the Apulia Region; as such, it does not offer hotel-style accommodations. This means that the tenant is required to pay for utilities consumed during the rental period, such as electricity and water; a final cleaning fee of €320.00; and a security deposit of €800.00, payable in cash or by bank transfer. The villa offers all modern comforts: a private pool protected by a gate for children, solar panels, Wi-Fi, a barbecue, heating, air conditioning, and fireplaces. Amenities include a dishwasher, refrigerator, freezer, microwave, oven, washing machine, espresso machine, and French press.
Maximum occupancy is 13 people, or 14 if there are infants with a crib provided. Before arrival, the owner will send the traveler a contract containing all details that the guest is legally required to sign prior to check-in. The contract will include all provisions of the house rules in accordance with Italian law.
By law, the contract with guests is governed by mandatory Italian and Apulia regional law No. 58/2019, regarding temporary leases for non-hotel accommodations, which must be accepted after booking. Upon arrival, the property calculates actual utility consumption with the guest by reading the meters upon arrival and before departure. Self-check-in with a code.
The villa, elegantly furnished with refined furnishings, features five large bedrooms, five bathrooms, plus single beds and cribs upon request, a hallway, a large living room, and large windows and doors in the bedrooms that overlook the first garden. In the second large garden in front of the living room, set among orange trees, there is a 10×5-meter pool. The villa offers all modern comforts: air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a barbecue, heating, fireplaces, and a large terrace on the first floor. Total area: 2,010 square meters. A refined, traditional Salento home, ideal for families.
Free parking is available in the recessed area next to the gate, accommodating 2 cars or a van. Additional cars may be parked on the nearby streets. Parking is free.
Mulino Santo Spirito is nestled in a large orange grove surrounded by dry stone walls, just a 10–20-minute drive from the crystal-clear waters of Castro Marina—the “pearl of Salento,” where Aeneas arrived after the fall of Troy—and about a 20-minute drive from the white-sand beaches of Otranto. This part of Puglia, Salento, boasts about 250 km of stunning coastline featuring a mix of rocky shores and sandy beaches. The house, particularly well-suited for extended families or groups of friends—especially those with children—is very comfortable, spacious, and airy, featuring magnificent high stone star-vaulted ceilings from that era and old stone fireplaces. The garden offers an enchanting view of the green countryside bordering the property. One pet is allowed, subject to the rules and for an additional fee of €50.Total area: 2,000 sqm, of which 400 sqm is indoor space and 1,600 sqm is outdoor space, including the entrance courtyard, gardens, pool area, and terraces. Due to its location, within walking distance you’ll find: supermarkets, grocery stores with takeout meals, pizzerias, and a bakery. Salento, in southern Apulia, is a must-see tourist destination of great appeal, and Surano is one of the many small, ancient villages steeped in agricultural tradition. It is part of the protected area of the Belvedere Natural Forest, located between Tricase and Otranto. With 250 km of coastline featuring Mediterranean vegetation, the area offers beautiful walks on foot, horseback, or by bike. A Caribbean-like sea with beaches of fine sand or rocky shores where you can snorkel, swim, dive, go on boat tours, fish (including night fishing), and enjoy water sports. The house is located just a 15-minute drive from the most picturesque stretch of coastline on the Adriatic, near the sea at Castro (famous for its old port, where scenes from the remake of the movie *Point Break* were filmed), the beaches of Otranto, the thermal spa at Santa Cesarea Terme, and the enchanting Tricase Porto. Surano is strategically located for easy access to Salento’s most beautiful beaches and the UNESCO World Heritage site. During the summer, many festivals enliven Surano’s town square, illuminated by 6-u
, featuring traditional Baroque “lights” and rich in folklore. This area is famous for

From first booking, the host, Patrizia was very welcoming. She gave us a lot of details about the area and all there was to do, places to visit and restaurant suggestions. We were a group of 5 couples. All bedrooms are a good size with private bathrooms though we did have to allocate rooms based on ease of access. The pool and garden are delightful and the outdoor table is super for a big group. We had a lovely relaxing time staying at The Old Mill

Friends and I finally got to enjoy some post-pandemic travel and this villa didn’t disappoint. We enjoyed great outdoor space and spacious bedrooms so that we could each have plenty of privacy. We loved the rustic feel of the place and Patrizia was always responsive to our questions. While the villa is a short drive to many locations, the town itself is SUPER quiet with not a lot happening. Would recommend for those looking for a peaceful retreat.

We had a large family reunion with 6 adults and 7 kids for two weeks and we absolutely loved this house and location! The house is so special (and so old!), but you can see and feel all of the love Patrizia put into the house. The outside area is lovely and spacious. Staying in Surano is a bit like going back in time - the older generation sitting outside their houses chatting to everyone who walks by and everything is closed for two hours in the afternoon. We were lucky enough to be there when a festival was on. The locals embraced us and made us feel so welcome even though we could not speak any Italian and there was no English in the town (or area)! Luckily, Patrizia is like a personal travel agent and suggests places to go every day and makes reservations whenever needed. There is so much to do in Puglia and near Surano that we could have stayed for several more weeks. We had so many highlights, but taking a boat trip from Castro and strolling around Otranto (both Patrizia’s suggestions) were probably to two most memorable! We will be back!

Beautiful property full of Puglian charm but with all modern amenities. Very spacious accommodation and gorgeous outdoor garden and pool in a quite little village. One comment from the kids - they would have liked the WiFi to extend to the bedrooms. Our host Patrizia was very welcoming and helpful, suggesting places to visit and eat. Convenient food store, pizza takeaway and sports bar all within walking distance. All in all a wonderful vacation and sad to leave.
