What you can expect at 'The Sunset': Six beautifully appointed bedrooms featuring Costa Rican art, hand carved beds and doors with bathrooms en suite The entire property is a showcase of Costa Rican art, decorative tile, stone and craft work. Two of the bedrooms feature decorative fireplaces. The downstairs master suite bathroom features a hot tub built for two. Large library/ living room area with wrap-around couch, television, Roku, bluetooth speaker. Large dining/presentation hall with a variety of available seating arrangements. Our unique indoor pool house features a divers pool, 4.5 feet on the shallow end, 10 ft deep on the deep end. 18x35 feet with attached jacuzzi heated on request. Featuring billiards, ping pong, weights, lounging areas. We live in the rainforest and nobody wants to swim in the rain, with our indoor pool house your group has access to all these amenities rain or shine, many groups hang out till the wee hours of the morning enjoying this incredible space, that is only offered by The Sunset!
All located in the "real rainforest" we aren't in a gated community or off the side of the road. We are easily accessed but just far enough removed that your stay will be in the "real Costa Rica", a 500 hundred acre preserve is to the east of us and several thousand acres of protected rainforest encompassing Tenorio National park is to our North and West. A spot of perfect peace and privacy with access to all the great activities and adventures this country has to offer.

Our family of four had the most wonderful week long stay! The host, Patrick, had the best recommendations and arranged all of our adventures. He made everything completely seamless and easy and was better than a travel agent! We all loved the beautiful house and all the details that included hand painted tiles, rock work, hand carved doors and beds, arched doorways, and hand painted sinks. The view could not be better of Arenal volcano and the lake and the mountains. We saw toucans and parakeets every day as well as beautiful hummingbirds of different varieties. We enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi every night. To top everything off, breakfast was truly delicious every single day with homemade smoothies, fresh fruits, eggs, meats, and waffles, French toast, or pancakes every day. Sometimes potatoes or rice and beans as well. We could not have asked for better anywhere! I hope we are able to return soon!

Patrick and his family were the best hosts! The homemade breakfast was so good! Loved the service of setting the table and cleaning up afterward. We stayed as a family of 4 and loved having the home to ourselves. The pool was wonderful! Love the views. He helped recommend and book our excursions which was so nice! Good variety of bed types. They have everything you need in the kitchen and for laundry. Felt safe in a foreign country having Patrick just a phone call away. He was always super responsive. We'd love to bring a group back again! Thank you so much!

Amazing property with stunning views snd limitless bird watching and wildlife from the balcony. Toucan, beautiful “parakeets”/parrots and so many other daily visitors. So much to do such as whitewater rafting, animal viewing friver floats, zip lining (outstanding and unique), coffee/ chocolate tasting and tour, ATV’s, horseback trips, and incredible scenery everywhere.Patrick and Alicia could not have been more gracious hosts. Patrick helped with planning everything and Alicia made the most amazing breakfast each morning. It is called the rain forest for a reason and the experience was exactly what we hoped for.There are also several extremely delicious restaurants within a 10 to 15 minute drive, including one (Gingerbread) which has some of the best food I have ever tasted. It is also a dining experience that is both unique and memorable!! Dinner and a show is an accurate description. Caution bringing young children or adults who are easily offended.Could not have more pleased with our experience and we are looking forward to another trip in October (hopefully) and a family vacation there next year!!

My Family has the pleasure of staying in this home for a week and we wish it was much longer. Patrick is an exceptional host. From pre vacation communication and questions, to setting up our airport transfer, drivers for the week, excursions He is nothing but accommodating. I wouldn’t hesitate to encourage any Friend or Family member to stay here. Patrick and his Team made us feel so comfortable and the breakfast was incredible. The house is very comfortable and to echo other reviews the pool house, grounds, amenities, and the views from the terrace didn’t dissapoint. Travel trip for those who make not be too familiar. WhatsApp and Zelle are both utilized heavily - set both up before you go!This is the perfect spot to setup base to explore the Lake Arenal area!!We will be back!
