Hard to complain about the price considering how close you are to the redwoods. Some nice things about the stay - nice and updated. Great location in downtown Crescent City. Has the necessities that one would need for a short stay. Some things to be aware of - the laundry is communal and depending upon the other guests that are staying there you may have to wait a substantial amount of time to use it. There is also no AC and although we had both windows open and both fans running, it was still a little toasty. Lastly, the walls are relatively thin and you can hear the other guests through the walls.

The room was clean and cozy. It would have been nice to have a TV in the living room area.

Clean and neat, much as described in the listing. We were there for 4 nights, and didn't have any problems. The only confusion the first day was the delay after you enter the code on the door -- first forgot the unlock, then tried opening too soon. Wait for the sound of the unlock, then the door opens easily :)We ended up needing to do some laundry, and were pleased to find laundry soap and fabric sheets in the cupboards at the unit. Machines were convenient and easy to use.though we had neighbors in other units that we saw occasionally, the way the building is laid out, you don't hear noise from other units when in the bedroom (at least not with the neighbors we had)

The unit itself was acceptable. However, the lack of a working HVAC system, and the complete lack of response from Raul when contacted was unacceptable.The unit would not cool down, and I messaged Raul, to which he never responded. To make the temperature in the unit bearable for sleeping, I opened the windows, and the screen in the kitchen/living room area had a large tear in one location and a hole in another location. Because of this, it was necessary to put toilet paper in the screen to keep the insects out.Sadly, my unit was not the only unit with this issue. When I went out for dinner, ALL of the units on the second floor had their windows open to let cooler air in.Given that I paid almost 200 for a one-night stay and have a heat-sensitive health condition, I would have greatly appreciated notification from the property owner that the HVAC cooling system was not functioning, or, at an absolute minimum, a response to my message.Although the unit was spacious and had a full kitchen, given the HVAC issues and the complete lack of professionalism by the staff, I will not stay here again, and I strongly advise others to ensure everything is in working order before doing so.
