He built this home for his family on this location so that he could oversee his ships in the harbor. Located just a few minutes walk into the village of Southwest Harbor on the "Quietside" of Mount Desert Island. This home has many historic features but has been nicely updated to accommodate a larger family or group. Each of it's five bedrooms has it's own bathroom, and many feature sitting areas and outdoor access to either decks or the garden area. Dining and living area can comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests. Kitchen has 2 dishwashers, ranges, & refrigerators to make meal times a breeze! This historic home has many outdoor areas to enjoy as well. The shared garden area will also have Adirondack chairs and a fire pit for roasting marshmallows.
