The Lone Star is near national parks, mountain trails and only 12 miles south of Estes Park. The Wild Basin Lodge and Event Center is 0.5 miles south of the home, famous for their top notch wedding venue. Minutes from a National Park entrance. You can get away from it all and still be just a short drive to restaurants, shopping and plenty of outdoor activities. The drive to Estes Park takes between 20-30 minutes.
The home was built in the 1970's by the homeowners father, and it has been completely remodeled inside and out! Most recently remodeled the now gourmet kitchen.
There are two living areas within this over 1950 Sq. foot home, and for those beautiful summer nights you can hang out on the wrap around deck and BBQ. Come and enjoy this beautiful property with room for everyone. All towels and fresh linens provided. Kitchen is stocked with pots and pans, plates, silverware... just bring food! Home is on 4 acres of wooden land.
In this large ranch home there is a master bedroom that has a queen bed and a private bathroom, two of bedrooms have queen beds and one bedroom has a double bed. The three bedrooms share a bathroom that has a door into a bedroom and a door from the hallway. One of the living areas has a queen sleeper sofa. All bed linens are provided. The dining room can seat up to 8 people, and there are 2 patio tables on the deck for seating for 8 people.
Homeowner resides near the property, this is convenient for special requests, questions or maintenance. There is also an outdoor dog kennel that guests can utilize. Please keep dogs on a leash or in the kennel. There are horses and a llama on the property.
NO OPEN FIRES ALLOWED!
Pricing is good for up to 8 people.
3 night minimum stay required, during the peak season.
Up to 2 dogs allowed, $30.00 pet fee per pet per night. If pets not paid for at time of reservation there will be a $100.00 fine per pet. No cats allowed.
Parking for up to 4 cars, room for camper/RV parking but anyone staying on the property will count towards the total guest count. There are no RV/Camper hookups

Clean house, nice property! We stayed here with my family for a wedding at Wild Basin Lodge. The house was just as described. We had plenty of space, and enjoyed how much nature was around us. The hosts were great, we even spoke with them personally and they helped my kids feed the animals on the property.

This review is difficult. As with any stay there were good things and not-so-good things.The property owners resided on site in a travel trailer about 30’ from the cabin. They were great! However, if a sense of isolation is desired, this property cannot provide it. On multiple occasions the owners transited their yard to do some maintenance/chores. This provoked our dogs to bark as the main windows' treatments could not close.This property is loved. Photos of grandkids, various play things and heaps of memorabilia are evidence. Unfortunately, the antiques and Do-Not-Touch signs made for an awkward stay; at times it felt like we were staying in a family's personal museum.The cabin was in between the travel trailer and the horse/lama paddock. The paddock is close by and a large pile of feces had accumulated on the cabin-side of it. The feces' smell did indeed come in the living room window from time to time but the odor wasn't too unpleasant and we didn't complain.The main bathroom's fan didn't work and with 3 males using it, we could stink up the place.We were required to bring in their hummingbird feeders nightly. We also had to deploy them daily in order to gain back the use of the kitchen sink.The dishwasher is quiet but needs cleaned; the holes on the rotating jet arms were semi-clogged.Once, they used their outdoor kennel & their dog barked at distant thunder all day. We soothed their dog w/some success.A great place to not quite relax.
