Wake up every morning and drink your beverage of choice while enjoying a glorious ocean view! Three of our five bedrooms offer an ocean view (moms and dads claim those!), while our entire, sunny, window filled Great Room offers the same spectacular option.
Step onto the wrap around deck to enjoy, the sight, sounds and smell of the ocean! A quick change into swimsuits and you can enjoy it all from the hot tub!
Our home is the perfect option - all of the benefits of "ocean view" without getting overwhelmed by the crowd and the traffic! How far away is the ocean? Less than five minutes. It's really close!
A big kitchen with a large snack bar, where fabulous food & drinks can be enjoyed while you chat with friends and family. We have a fully stocked kitchen, beach chairs, games, cards, books - whatever you need to relax, it's here. There is a washer and dryer at the house as well (not that you want to do laundry, but you can. :). Enjoy our nearly 3,000 square foot space to spread out at night and connect during the day. Sun, Ocean, Great Food & Beverage of Choice = Relaxation!
NOTE: IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU HAVE A 4WD VEHICLE so you can easily drive to our home. Our home is on Carova Beach, which is the perfect oasis - far enough away from the downtown OBX craziness without being too far away if you want to experience the crazy! Carova Beach is also a Wild Horse Preserve, so plan on seeing plenty of wild horses during your stay!
We have a three day minimum in the off season; minimum 7 day stay during the summer season.
It's a 7 mile drive down the beach - not a bad commute with a view like that! If you don't want to drive on the beach, there are other options to get you there (i.e. you can use a "park & ride" service to and from the house - there are fees associated with that. I can provide more info for you, if you'd like).
We will give you more information in our "Welcome" letter on tips & tricks for driving on the beach, as well as what we have at the house and what you may want to bring. And, please, reach out to us with any questions. We're here to make your stay just what you need it to be so you can relax and recharge.

If you’re looking for a unique Outer Banks experience, Piper’s Nest on Corolla’s 4x4 beach is the perfect place to stay. The house is about seven miles down the beach, and while I was nervous about driving on the sand at first, airing our tires down made it easy. True Four-wheel drive is recommended, but my daughter’s 4x4 Jeep Cherokee handled it just fine. Best of all, we saw wild horses almost every single day, making this beautiful, uncrowded area feel truly magical.The house was clean, comfortable, and fully stocked with everything we needed, including beach chairs, canopies, and boogie boards. The beach was just a two-minute drive away, making it easy to run back and forth with our young kids whenever we needed to. We just threw everything in the back of the truck and drove down. It was truly an awesome beach experience. Tracey and Gerry were fantastic hosts—friendly, attentive, and quick to respond to any questions. Between the incredible home, the pristine beaches, and the unforgettable wild horses, Piper’s Nest is a true hidden treasure. We made amazing family memories and can’t wait to come back!

Tracy was a great hostess for our group, she was responsive to our questions and concerns before we booked the house.
The house was beautiful, rooms were comfortable, and the location was amazing. The house has all of the amenities one would need to cook, we didn't have to use any of our tools that we brought because they were fully stocked.
We would definitely stay at the Piper's Nest again!

Our family had a wonderful trip over Easter! We had 8 adults and 4 children, ranging from 15-8 years old. The house is spacious and has all the amenities needed for a great stay. We loved spending time on the deck watching the wild horses and looking at the ocean. My husband and son went surf fishing daily and caught some nice fish. It was a relaxing stay and we hope to return soon!

Excellent property and location and we enjoyed our stay very very much.
The kitchen was well stocked. However the property needs work and to be thoroughly cleaned, especially the return air vents. Outside lights didn’t work and are a must due to the steepest of the steps.
Even though I stated the items above it is no because I am complaining, it’s because I’m trying to help improve on the property for future visitors.
We enjoyed our selfs immensely and definitely would stay again. Thanks for sharing your Piper’s Nest with us.
