Maria, the landlady, came with bananas and potatoes from the backyard, always there to help you.
First time in Madeira, but not the last, strange place.

This house is close to bus stops, and within walking distance of restaurants and a grocery store, also a museum we enjoyed visiting. The seascapes viewed from the church when the sea was active were some of the best anywhere.
The owner of the house is very generous in many ways. She even gave us some homemade sweetbread and other goodies she bought for us. She was always ready to help in any way at all. A very pleasant lady, which made our stay that much more enjoyable.
