We stayed in room 401 for 10 days. For Japanese standards a nice spacious studio with traditional layout. A small kitchenette (we did not use), shower, toilet, washing machine, foldable table and chairs and tatami mats with thin bedding. So overall, a cosy and comfortable space. The location was great for us as it was just a 7 min walk to the subway in a nice, quiet area. Would recommend for young travelers who don't mind walking and need a good base camp for their trips in the area. No elevator, and there are 5 stories, so you gotta be ready for that if you want to stay here!

Responses from the property were only in Japanese, which meant a lot of translating. It was unclear what they wanted for registration, and I was not comfortable sending copies of passports to a strange email address. Luckily, just filling out the form on the table seemed to be enough in the end. Room 401 specifically has a leaky window/wall. In heavy rain, water would drip down the wall and onto the tatami mat where we were sleeping. They gave us only 2 towels for 10 days. No instructions on how to get more, and due to communication struggles, we decided to use the washing machine to deal with it ourselves. If you have never slept on the floor before, I suggest giving it a try before booking this place. As someone who sleeps on their side, it was painful.

The apartment is located a little bit outside from Asakusa main attractions with the nearest Minowa Station around 8-10 min walking distance. We arrived in the afternoon, but the owner is kind enough to let us checked in early right after cleaning completed. The neighbourhood is quite and clean, which a bonus point after a hectic day exploring Tokyo major cities. The traditional bed is suprisingly very confortable despite of it look. The water pressure is very strong and all amenities available as listed.

To reach the apartment at one level up, you have to use typical narrow Japanese staircase. It is good if hand rail can be installed.
