The Beach House at Drifting Sands

Only problem was the air conditioner is at bed level and not more than 2 feet from bed. So if it was turned off it made the other side of the room hot. If left on, closest bed was frozen

Upon arrival, I would have given 5 stars, because what’s not to love about being right on the beach! Well, what’s not to love is a noisy AC unit that wakes you up from a dead sleep when it turns back on in the middle of the night. That, and the lights were kept on outside the room all night which the curtains do not block out entirely. One final note - there were lots of noisy car races throughout the night, which, if the AC unit had the ability to stay running without going into energy-saving mode, then I think it would have drowned out the background noise. That was not the case. I believe I was in the “Efficiency house” which is to the left of the main property building. I plan to come back because the room was clean and the location can’t be beat, but I will try a different location within the property. If you are able to: 1) turn off the outside lights/get better curtains and 2) Get an AC unit that can run throughout the night to block out uncontrollable outside noises, THEN I would have no problem giving 5 stars!

Enjoyed stay here. Room was large and clean. Walk to the beach was under 5-10 mins. Located near walkable stores, restaurants etc. Parking was sizable never had a problem getting a spot. I’d definitely return. Nothing fancy but perfectly fine for a quick LBI visit.
