Great location, good if you want some peace and quiet. The price is good, and the hosts are lovely, responding quickly to any issues or queries. Nice, comfortable and quiet stay.

Some issues with the hot water but this was resolved quickly.

Quiet and easy access to walking to shore and surrounding countryside. Friendly hosts. Shapinsay folk were helpful and friendly. We didin't try the bike hire but it would be a good idea to use it. Cafe in Balfour is run by members of the community trust. Shows a great commitment to the islandby local people.

pity that the immersion heater for the hot water packed in on a weekend so couldn't get spare part . But there was an electric shower so we could wash.

This is a really comfy, newly kitted house with all mod cons on a beautiful peaceful island. Joanna came and met us off the ferry to take us to the house which was so kind. Communication with her throughout was excellent.

Nothing much really. You can only just see the sea from the house itself but if you walk past a few old farm buildings you can stand on the coast and look out over the beautiful bay. We saw an otter there!
