Really nice Japanese style hotel, newish and clean.

We stayed for 3 nights; however on day 2 the water started to go on and off, left us standing in the shower with soap on for at least 30 mins. One time we weren’t able to flash the toilet

Upon arrival, we knew that the onsen was closed. The staff upgraded our room for no cost and we had a wonderful experience.

From the minute we arrived at this property, we were in awe. It’s on the cutest little street. It’s in walking distance to the main area of town where there’s lots of bars and restaurants. There were 4 of us so we stayed in the spa suite with the huge tub and sauna. We were each welcomed with an origami. We had clean pajamas and new toiletries brought to our room daily. We loved the pajamas so much that we all bought a pair from the front desk to bring home. The staff is exceptional and so kind. I particularly want to name ABDEL who went above and beyond to assure our comfort. We opted for a half board and breakfast was delicious with a lot of options to choose from. We actually did not want to leave Kyoto and this ryokan. It was the highlight of our 10 days in Japan. I would absolutely return. It was worth every penny. Highly recommend.

I have nothing negative to say at all. We all loved this ryokan.
