Collecting key for property was fine. We had to meet agent at 5pm, but we got there earlier than expected and had to hang about for a while. Access to a locked key box would be useful for that situation. The accommodation is beautiful inside. Bright, spacious, decent furniture, plenty of storage. Kitchen appliances are modern and hi-tech which, although standard in most homes, may take a bit of getting used to if you were unfamiliar with digital controls. Well stocked crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils (although no scissors). Wi-fi wasn't an issue in the property. Vodafone is the service provider which I found out offered the best service for that area. EE is my mobile provider and I had little issues with their roaming service during the holiday. Plenty of space outdoors, with pool and dining furniture for 6 people. There is a barbeque also (we didn't use it though, so don't know how effective it is). There is a high fence, so some privacy is available. Property has electronic shutters which you can use for extra security or, more likely, to offer some shade and minimise heat build-up indoors. Support from agents of the property was very good. We had some issues with a TV remote control that wasn't working properly and they sorted it next day. We were without a dishwasher for a few days (I know...first world problems) but, after a lot of attention from the property team, this was resolved. The property is 30 mins or so from Lisbon. We hired a car for the duration of our holiday and spent a lot of time exploring further south, which was fantastic! Visiting Lisbon wasn't a problem however, and depending on the type of vehicle you wanted (and the time), you could get a Bolt ride for 15-30 Euros. First time in Lisbon, and it is stunning city. We've already booked a city break there for early next year.

Another key would have been useful. Our group either had to go out/return together, or somebody would need to stay in if another group went out for the day. I know I'm on holiday and supposed to be relaxing, but some additional cleaning materials would have made life easier. A mop/bucket, broom, dustpan, etc. There is a vacuum facility, which is OK, but sometimes you just need a little sweep. Seeing as we were washing dishes it would have been nice to have a few tea towels as well. Yes, there is a dishwasher, but sometimes you only need to wash a couple of things. The mattresses for the sun loungers were not really fit for purpose. They were dirty and damaged and were soaked through. We did ask for replacements but that didn't happen. It wasn't a big deal for us, but I'd like to think that for sun worshippers who visit after us, they could use the loungers in comfort. Some instructions in the property for when, where to put out the rubbish, and options for recycling. The local area seemed to have bins overflowing and rubbish dumped in bags. We didn't want to contribute to that and took a lot of our recyclables on our trips to dispose of. At times there was a lot of noise around the property. Nobody's fault. Construction was happening all over the place.

Nada a apontar

The house is like in the pictures, really beautiful, big and inside you have everything you need for a nice holiday.

The internet is really really slow. The place needs to be more clean for the guests (please vacuum all the places including stairs, clean the couch, change the bedsheets if they are stained even if they are cleaned). I am really hopeful they will learn for this review, the place has a high potential to be amazing.
